 SpeechGrade Level: 8-12 Registration Opens: September 16, 2024 Registration Closes: November 29, 2024 @ 4:00 PM Cost: $225.00 Practice Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays Time: 4:00 - 5:00 PM Location: Room 305 About: The Speech Team is designed for all interest levels. Students may choose to make it their primary winter activity, or invest on a part-time basis when available. Speech Team is for anybody who is curious to learn about any of the following: public speaking, storytelling, poetry and prose interpretation, performance art, research and discussion, and extemporaneous speaking prompts. A description of the 13 Speech Categories that students can choose to participate in can be found here Tournaments: Nova will have the opportunity to participate in tournaments run by the Minnesota State High School League. Tournaments will take place on Saturdays from January to the end of March. Interested students will participate in 4-5 tournaments over the course of the season. Parents will provide transportation to tournaments, and will be asked to stay and help chaperone at least one tournament throughout the season. |
