 Volleyball Varsity/JV/CGrades: 7-12 Registration Opens: July 8, 2024 Registration Closes: August 9, 2024 @ 4:00 PM Tryouts: August 12 & 13 grades 7-12 Team placement August 13 & 14. Cost: $250.00 Head Coach: Thomas Dobbs Season Starts: August 12, 2024 Description: Open to girls in grades 7-12. This program is an MSHSL activity and requires a current physical on file with the school. Physicals are good for 3 years from the date of exam, need to be signed by a physician and include a clearance to participate in sports. Practices are Monday - Saturday. After school times are scheduled between 4:00-7:00 PM. Students with a later practice time need to leave the school building and return at the time of their practice. One way buses are provided to most away games. Hello! I am Coach Thomas Dobbs. I have been coaching volleyball for over 20 years and this will be my 6th season leading the program at Nova Classical Academy. Last season our Varsity record was 30-1 and we are one of the top ranked AA volleyball programs in the state heading into the fall 2023 season. My coaching purpose statement is to: "Create a healthy competitive environment where student athletes can thrive and can become greater than they can imagine." My goal is to instill a love of the game, a respect for one another and an understanding that excellence is achieved through hard work, perseverance, teamwork and trust. Through transformational coaching I hope to develop strong, confident, resilient, empowered young women that use the lessons learned on the court to succeed in life. I am married to my wife Laura, and we have four children, the youngest of which will start college this fall. We all still play volleyball and I currently am in an adult league with my oldest son and my daughter-in-law. Fun fact: I coached my daughter-in-law in a club volleyball program when she was a Jr. in HS, before she began dating my son! I am an architect and Principal of Hay Dobbs Architects in my "real job". I enjoy cooking, spicy food, shooting sports, playing and coaching volleyball, attending Adventure, watching volleyball and lacrosse, and spending time with my family. Tryout |
